Altered Books

September 24, 2009

We had a great Altered Book class last night. Everyone chose a book to change into a new personal work of art. Some chose to make a book about an interest, hobby, favorite color or school mascot. When you make an altered book it is not done all at once. You continue to add to it over time until one day you step back and say “It’s finished!” Each person got a great start on an altered book and learned fun techniques, including, hoto make pockets, embossing, envelopes and decorations. Stay tuned for more fun activities at the library! We will be displaying some altered books and pictures of others so come to the Frankfort Library and see what you could do with an old book that needs a new purpose.
